A Reliable Hope

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
~Psalm 62:5-8

Why don’t our souls wait for God in silence? Could it be that we don’t trust that within the silence we’ll discover a safe place where there is room for the soul to breath. Yet within the solitude of God’s presence we are taught that an absolutely reliable hope exists.

A hope
breaking through
calling forth
awakening to
waiting within
reflecting upon
arriving with
bestowing again
trusting in
A reliable hope.

May you and I have the courage to pour out the desires of our hearts before our reliable God and lay our lives on the line for him.
