Blessed are you, O Lord, who is Love.

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us.
God is love,
and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
~1John 4:16

Today as I continue the practice of blessing God for who he is, I am mindful of God’s steadfast love that shows up in all sorts of ways when I take time be aware of it. For instance, one afternoon as sat looking out the window of my study, I noticed something new. The branches of one of the many oak trees on the property of Quiet Oaks form the shape of a heart.

I was immediately struck by how God wondrously reveals who he is so that his children will know and believe how deeply they are loved.

Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things.
~Psalm 107:8-9

Blessed are You, O Lord, who is Love!
