The call to start Come Learn Rest Ministries (CLRM) began with assessing how the Spirit of God prompted me to minister to the needs of spiritual directors and ministry leaders. Through our past and current ministry context, I continue to learn how to better pray and support spiritual directors and ministry leaders.
While finishing courses for a Masters of Divinity degree, I completed my training to be a spiritual director at Mercy Center in Burlingame, California. In 2012, I graduated from Western Theological Seminary and spent the next few years ministering to the pastoral staff at a local church while starting my spiritual direction practice. In 2019, I completed a Doctorate in Ministry degree in spiritual direction from Fuller Theological Seminary. With this link, you can access my doctoral project which is entitled, “Spiritual Disciplines for Spiritual Directors.”
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
— Matthew 11:28-30
Come, learn and rest are not just random words; they are words of invitation to live in a rhythm of coming to and learning from the Lord in order to truly rest in God. This is a rhythm we try to replicate in supervision and spiritual direction at CLR Ministries.
If you are sensing God’s invitation to supervision for your spiritual direction ministry or spiritual direction for your on-going spiritual health, know that we are committed to creating space for you to experience greater interior freedom within your life which translates into a true rest for your soul.
As a ministry leader, I cling to the fourth verse from John’s third letter: “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in truth.” Journeying with others as they discover and discern how the Lord is at work in their lives is pure joy.
